Absolute reliability and concurrent validity of a novel electromechanical pulley dynamometer for measuring shoulder rotation isometric strength in asymptomatic subjects:

Chamorro et al. (2019)

Abstract

The 2019 study by Chamorro et al. evaluated a new functional electromechanical pulley dynamometer (FED) for measuring shoulder rotation strength. Results showed very high correlation with gold-standard isokinetic systems, validating the FED as a reliable and versatile tool for clinical shoulder assessment.

This research confirms that the new FED device can accurately replace traditional systems for measuring maximal voluntary isometric torque in the shoulder. Its reliability and high correlation with standard measures support its use in professional sports and rehab.
