Test–Retest Reliability of an Isometric and Isometric/Vibratory Muscular Strength Protocol with Functional Electro-Mechanical Dynamometry

Andrades-Ramirez et al. (2024)

Abstract

The study evaluated the reliability of using a Functional Electro-Mechanical Dynamometer (FEMD) to measure muscle strength in both standard isometric and isometric-vibratory modes across multiple exercises. Results showed high reliability (ICC 0.92–0.99) and consistency, making FEMD a valid tool for performance and clinical assessments.

The FEMD protocol is a stable and repeatable method for assessing maximal strength, whether using standard isometric tension or adding vibratory stimuli. This makes it a dependable technology for clinicians and researchers.
