Abstract
This 2018 study by Chamorro et al. investigated how the data window used to analyze peak torque affects the reliability of shoulder measurements. Results showed that analyzing the central 50% of the contraction data significantly improved reliability for external rotation compared to using raw peak points.
To minimize error, researchers and clinicians should analyze a stable window of data rather than isolated peaks. This methodological refinement improves the sensitivity of tests for tracking small but meaningful changes in an athlete's strength profile.
